Dr Alice Pawlik is a conservation biologist with research interests spanning amphibian disease ecology, microbial communities, and citizen science. Alice recently completed a NERC GW4+ funded PhD at the University of Exeter, supervised by Dr Xavier Harrison, Professor Charles Tyler, Professor Trenton Garner and Professor Barbara Kasprzyk-Horden and funded by NERC GW4+ DTP. This research investigated the relationships between skin microbiomes and disease in the common frog (Rana temporaria), combining fieldwork, molecular techniques, and a UK-wide citizen science survey.

Alongside her research, Alice has extensive experience in ecological education and public outreach. She has worked with conservation NGOs, developed and delivered training and engagement initiatives for a wide range of audiences, and contributes to habitat and species-level conservation through practical fieldwork, education, and community science. She is currently an Associate Lecturer at the University of Exeter, where she teaches and supports learning in environment and health, ecological public health, and conservation science.
