I am a postdoctoral research associate working in the lab of Prof. Wendy Noble based in the Hatherly Laboratories. My research comprises of studying the biochemical, molecular, electrical and behavioural alterations that occur in brains afflicted with tauopathies. The main tau post-translational modification which that my research focusses on is Tau35, an N-terminally cleaved, C-terminal, 35kDa form of wiltd-type tau which has been found in the brains of people with both sporadic and familial tauopathies.

Prior to this, I was the assistant laboratory manager for the neuroscience, bioscience and geography laboratories based in the Hatherly building. My role was mainly based around providing technical support to the various research groups based in Hatherly, such as performing maintenance on equipment or reviewing H&S paperwork.

Before joining Exeter, I was a PhD candidate in the Fern lab at the University of Plymouth where I studied the potential benefits of using glutamate receptor antagonists for the treatment of ischemic brain injuries. For this research I developed a novel ex vivo electrophysiological model of white matter ischemia. I also utilised confocal microscopy, electron microscopy and used various genetic models during my PhD studies.
