Dr Jennie Hayes

Jennie Hayes is a Research Fellow specialising in qualitative methods, co-production and community-based research in the field of health and social care services, health inequalities and community wellbeing. She works as part of the Relational Health Group in the Department of Health and Community Sciences in the University of Exeter Medical School.
Her current work is to capture the learning from the Poverty Truth Commission (PTC) in Ilfracombe, Devon. The Ilfracombe PTC is part of a national initiative helping to mitigate the impact of poverty (see povertytruthnetwork.org). This work is a partnership between the University of Exeter, One Northern Devon and the Devon Community Foundation and is funded by an ESRC Impact Accelerator Award (Co-Creation).
Prior to this Jennie worked on an AHRC funded study exploring how community assets can help address health inequalities at the University of Plymouth; a realist evaluation of Plymouth’s community builder programme (University of Plymouth); an NIHR-funded realist evaluation of a child protection pathway re-design in children’s social care (University of Exeter); and a conversation analysis study of interactions in out of hours primary care (University of Bristol).
