Miss Sammi Rosser
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Health and Community Sciences
I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working on the Health Service Modelling Associates (HSMA) programme.
HSMA (hsma.co.uk) teaches 100+ NHS, police, social care and other public sector staff per year how to program in Python and apply data science and operational research techniques to the problems their organisations are facing. Training is provided free of charge to the students and their organisations, and all training material is released under a non-commercial open source licence.
My previous role was in the NHS, as a Senior Data Scientist at Devon Partnership Trust, working with PenCHORD to identify opportunities for the application of data science and operational research to improve urgent and inpatient mental health care. Whilst in this role, I developed custom visuals for complex information, working with NHS staff to find ways to make the data we can provide more useful to them.
Prior to joining the NHS, I completed an MSc in Health Data Science at the University of Exeter.
